The Jones family

Roy and Shirley Jones moved to the Farnham area in 1989 and became members of Farnham Baptist early in 1990. At that time Roy worked with timetables at Waterloo Station while Shirley was a Practise Nurse in North Camp. They both served in the Junior Church as well as working with young people at FBC.

In 1995 the Joneses were called to full-time service with Youth With A Mission and took their initial training in the USA and in Romania. They moved to the Lausanne area of French-speaking Switzerland at the end of 1996. It became their base but they have developed links with different parts of Europe & French-speaking West Africa through different YWAM projects while working in their locality as well.

In 2005 they were commissioned as European co-ordinators for YWAM Associates International (www.ywamassociates.eu) and in this role they organise camps in different parts of the continent. Roy and Shirley have been involved in YWAM Family Ministries for several years and Shirley sits on the International Family Resource Centre of YWAM. The Joneses have been working where they live, close to the French border, in a local church where Shirley has a ministry with women. In addition, she is developing the YWAM "Listening Prayer" programme. Roy spends most of his time on administration for YWAM.

The Joneses have two teenage daughters. The whole family have worked on several outreaches together during their 15 years in YWAM whilst their eldest daughter has also taken part in additional Missions trips to China, Togo, Kenya etc.
